Repository creation using RCU for UCM
Open a web browser and go to the link specified below.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/content/downloads/index.html
Accept the licence terms and condition and Expand “Required Additional Software” + icon.
Select the highlighted software and download it.
Enter your login credentials and click on “Sign In” button. After clicking on this button your download will be started. Wait until this download gets finished.
Unzip or Extract the downloaded file and rename it as “rcuHome”.
Open the “rcuHome” folder and then select and open “BIN” folder. Search for “rcu.bat” file.
Double click on “rcu.bat” file to open it.
Once you open “rcu.bat” file, following screen will appear.
Click on “Next” button.
On next screen select “Create” radio button and click on “Next”.
In the next step you have to provide the connection details for Oracle Database 11g.
If you get any warning like shown below just click on “Ignore” button.
Click on “Ok” button.
In next screen Expand the (+) for “Oracle AS Repository Component” and select “Metadata Service” checkbox.
Similarly expand (+) for “Enterprise Content Management” and select “Oracle Content Server 11g – Complete”. Leave all credentials as it is.
Click on “Next”.
Click on “Ok”.
Specify the password for Schema “DEV_MDS” and “DEV_OCS”. You can choose different password also but I have chosen same password for both the schema so that I can remember it easily.
“DEV_OCS” is the Schema which will be used by content server to store the table and related data.
Similarly “DEV_MDS” will be used to store Meta data information.
Click on “Next”.
Click on “Next”.
If you get any pop up like below just click on “OK”.
Click on “OK”.
Click on “Create” button to create the Schemas.
Click on “Close” button to finish the repository creation wizard.
